Overview

The Political Associate supports projects and activities to advance the goals of the Government Affairs team. Assists with creation and execution of fundraising strategies for Ob-GynPAC. Supports Ob-GynPAC political efforts, including administrative support, tracking incoming and outgoing funds, and updating Ob-GynPAC databases and websites. Works within ACOG teams across the organization to initiate outreach to ACOG members to garner engagement in fundraising and other political opportunities. Represents ACOG in meetings with external stakeholders.

Note: This position is considered Hybrid and will need to commute to ACOG's office located in Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities

• Process all Ob-GynPAC check and credit card contributions.
• Maintain Ob-GynPAC database (NGP), including ensuring information is current and accurate, and creating innovative and efficient ways to maximize fundraising resources.
• Fundraise directly via written and telephone communication with ACOG members.
• Liaise with external compliance firm to ensure that all Ob-GynPAC contributions and disbursements meet Federal Election Commission requirements.
• Prepare regular accounting and fundraising reports for Political Strategist and Committee Chair.
• Monitor retention of monthly and quarterly recurring Ob-GynPAC contributions and create and maintain a program for small-dollar recurring contributions.
• Maintain accurate records of fundraising event invitations received and coordinate Ob-GynPAC physician or staff attendance at events. Manage event RSVPs, request and submit event contributions, track all disbursements, and provide other relevant support as needed.
• Assist with coordination of PAC presence at ACOG events throughout the year, including but not limited to the Annual Clinical and Scientific Meeting, State Legislative Roundtable, and Annual District Meetings throughout the year. Travel to meetings as necessary.
• Assist with planning of the annual Congressional Leadership Conference, ACOG’s annual lobby day fly-in. Attend and staff this conference.
• Assist with other political advocacy projects as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:
• Familiarity with Federal Election Commission or state campaign finance compliance preferred.
• Experience with research platforms and member engagement platforms preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to work both cooperatively as well as independently; ability to prioritize tasks and meet
deadlines.
• Ability to travel and work off hours on occasion.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and some
familiarity with managing databases. Experience with latest NGP platform preferred.

 

Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of related experience. Experience with political campaigns, political
fundraising, or congressional advocacy preferred.

Compensation

The base salary for this position is $50,000 - $56,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, ACOG offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes the perks outlined below.
