Overview

The District Project Manager is responsible for managing District activities. Provide support and planning of District and Section meetings. Planning of District communications and publications, events, special committees and projects, and management and training of Section staff. Use data analytics to support project activities. Network and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Make independent judgments to assess, interpret, and respond to the needs of the Fellow and Junior Fellow District and Section officers and members.

Note: This position is considered Hybrid and will need to commute to ACOG's office located in Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a point of contact and resource for District and Section officers. Develop and maintain productive partnerships with assigned district, vendors, and team members across ACOG. Is available to assist Section staff as needed in their respective time zones.
• Lead, plan, implement, and evaluate projects at the direction of the District leadership. Project list is subject to change as activities are completed and member/community needs are reassessed.
• Interact collaboratively on project planning with a variety of departments within ACOG including Meetings, Membership, Government Relations, Financial Service Center, and Communications.
• Oversee all aspects of Fellow and Junior Fellow District Advisory Council Meetings (DAC), and Young Physician and Medical Student meetings including but not limited to meeting logistics, securing speakers, selecting locations, logistical coordination of attendees, timelines, deliverables, stakeholder engagement, preparing meeting materials, and disseminating minutes.
• Seek out and oversee opportunities to participate in pilot projects offered by National.
• Partner with other District Managers on Annual District Meetings (ADMs) to lead conference planning and run the event on-site.
• Create Annual District Meeting marketing plan, manage planning committee, lead monthly conference calls, work with Junior Fellows to develop resident and medical student programming, create content for email blasts, programs, website, and social media.
• Travel to and attend all Annual and Interim District meetings, District events at the Annual Clinical& Scientific Meeting (ACSM), and other meetings/events as requested by District.
• Assist the District Chair and Junior Fellow District Chair with reports due to National and provide advance notification of pertinent national ACOG meetings such as the Council of District Chairs.
• Organize and facilitate quarterly conference calls for the District and Section Treasurers, and for the Legislative Committee (comprised of District Legislative Chair, Section Legislative Chairs, and lobbyists).
• Provide recommendation for District and Section Policies and Procedures updates and changes.
• Assist with District strategic planning sessions.
• Manage District and Section committees. Provide guidance regarding ACOG Policies and
• Procedures. Collect and evaluate public health data as needed to assist committees in strategic planning and goal setting.
• Develop relationships with state health departments to aid in accomplishing District and Section goals. Seek opportunities and manage applications for grant support.
• Host a training at ACOG National on resources, policies, and procedures for Section staff. Hold monthly conference calls to provide updates from National and the District, receive updates on
• Section projects and events and share strategies and best practices across the region.
• Establish annual summit to address a women’s health issue impacting the region This includes developing and leading a planning committee, managing event logistics, and ongoing monitoring of the challenges faced by ob-gyns and their patients in the District to identify future topics.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or other related software.
• Ability to be self-directed and productive, react calmly and professionally to challenging situations.
• Must be able to exercise independent thinking and make judicious decisions.
• Must demonstrate a strong ability to multi-task and complete assignments in a timely manner.
• Comfortable working under pressure with tight deadlines.
• Must be able to travel and work extra hours as needed during peak workload periods, which will include some weekends.
• Must be able to conduct work in various time zones, Atlantic (AST), Eastern (EST), Central (CST), Mountain (MST), Pacific (PST), Alaskan (AKST), and Hawaii-Aleutian (HST).

 

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience. Project management experience in the health sector required, preferably with a medical association.

Compensation

The base salary for this position is $75,000 - $85,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, ACOG offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes the perks outlined below.
