    American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), a membership organization dedicated to the advancement of women’s health care in Washington, DC, is currently seeking a Manager of Political and Grassroots Advocacy to execute grassroots and political strategies to develop state and Congressional support for legislative priorities and operate grassroots programs and initiatives. The Manager of Politcal and Grassroots Advocacy will also be responcible for executing fundraising strategies for Ob-GynPAC and ensure compliance for all Ob-GynPAC contributions and disbursements; event planning of annual Congressional Leadership Conference and other meetings; oversee PAC and grassroots databases and websites. 

    Responsibilities

    • Assist with all Ob-GynPAC and ACOG advocacy efforts, including external outreach and internal operations.
    • Assist with developing and implementing Ob-GynPAC fundraising strategy, including managing Ob-GynPAC promotion and messaging, digital and in-person PAC fundraising opportunities, and giving-level and high-donor incentive programs.
    • Assist with developing ACOG grassroots advocacy strategy, including issue-specific activity and broader evolution of legislative and political advocacy among ACOG members.
    • Create Ob-GynPAC and Grassroots advocacy correspondence and materials for mailing.
    • Assist with developing Ob-GynPAC political strategy, including researching Congressional and State candidates, especially health care providers, vetting candidates requesting Ob-GynPAC support, and track races.
    • Assist with drafting and sending legislative action alerts and advocacy email blasts to Members via Engage.
    • Manage grassroots database (Engage), fundraising database (NGP), and Ob-GynPAC information in ACOG’s membership database (NetForum) and conduct necessary data imports and exports.
    • Assist with planning the Annual Congressional Leadership Conference, including developing agenda and broader grassroots advocacy, event planning, and coordinating attendee registration, sponsorship, participation, and meetings with Members of Congress. Attend and staff this conference.
    • Plan Ob-GynPAC fundraising events and organize PAC and advocacy efforts and materials for Congressional Leadership Conference, Annual Clinical Meeting, and Annual District Meetings. Travel to meetings as necessary.
    • Manage McCain and Gellhaus Fellowship Programs, including assisting with scheduling meeting, events, and visits with their Members of Congress.
    • Ensure Ob-GynPAC contributions and disbursements meet Federal Election Commission requirements.
    • Coordinate Ob-GynPAC dues payments, both personal and corporate, with Accounting and Membership Departments. Oversee temporary staff to assist in dues processing.
    • Assist with processing Ob-GynPAC campaign contributions, for both federal and state candidates and committees.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors Degree required
    • At least five (5) years of related professional experience
    • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Publisher, Excel, database and website management
    • Strong organizational, writing, and communication skills
    • Ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple projects
    • Flexibility to work outside of standard business hours
    • Ability to travel as needed
    • Interest in physician issues and legislative advocacy required
