  • Overview

    American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), a membership organization dedicated to the advancement of women’s health care in Washington, DC, is currently seeking a Grants and Compliance Manager to serve as the in-house expert on compliance and grants management.

    This position will ensure that proposals and grant documents adhere to both external and internal compliance requirements, as well as provide on-demand technical assistance with compliance-related issues. In addition, the Manager will be responsible for maintaining a tracker of ACOG’s grant portfolio, including tracking compliance with all grant requirements. This position will work with the Director of Program and Grants Management to develop tools, processes and trainings to support the effective and consistent application of program and grants management policies.  

    Responsibilities

    1. Serves as primary in-house expert and resource on compliance aspects of grants management, including federal rules and regulations, internal policies, and subrecipient monitoring. Keeps abreast of changing compliance regulations.

     

    2. Reviews grant documents to assure that the terms and conditions of the award adhere to ACOG's policies and procedures, as well as any relevant Federal Regulations (FAR, CFR, etc.). Coordinates with the legal to advise staff on interpretation of grant language in new awards and grant proposal queries.

     

    3. Maintains tracker with the status of all active grants and proposals, including tracking compliance with grant reporting requirements, as well as monitoring grant periods and spending trends.

     

    4. Keeps program teams and Director of Program and Grants Management informed of any projected inabilities to meet contractual obligations. Proactively mitigate risks through regular review of reports and readiness to propose remedial solutions.

     

    5. Manage the subrecipient process in coordination with grant and legal teams including:

    a. Performing due diligence on potential subrecipients;
    b. Assisting with subaward agreements;
    c. Monitoring subrecipient performance for compliance.

     

    6. Coordinates with program teams executing grants and programs, including ongoing communication about grant requirements. Support program and development teams on proposal and budget preparation as requested, particularly for those involving federal funds.

     

    7. Assist with other projects, as assigned.

    Qualifications

    All interested applicants must submit a resume and cover letter for consideration.

    • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
    • Four (4) to seven (7) years of professional work experience, including prior experience administering federal grants
    • Expert knowledge of federal grant rules and regulations, such as Code of Federal Regulation (CFRs), OMB Circulars and other directives governing grants and contracting. Experience with regulations specific to multiple types of charitable structures, including 501(c)(6) and 501(c)(3)s.
    • Understanding of indirect rate structures and application.
    • Ability to manage multiple activities in a deadline-oriented environment. Highly organized, flexible and possess a strong attention to detail.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Advanced proficiency in basic Microsoft Office suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • High level of integrity, professionalism including teamwork and ability to deliver within short deadlines, work under pressure and multi-tasking skills.
