    Are you a detail-oriented, digital storyteller who views each piece of content as an opportunity connect with your desired audience? Do you love to write, edit and manage digital content in the medical or healthcare fields?

     

    ACOG, the nation’s leading membership organization dedicated to advancing the ob-gyn profession and improving women’s health, is looking for a Web Content Manager to help write, edit and manage content for its website and ensure that content that is accurate, engaging and consistent in style and tone. You’ll work collaboratively with internal subject matter experts to transform information into engaging content.

    Responsibilities

    • Content Strategy and Planning. Work with the Senior Web Content Strategist to support the creation and implementation of content strategy for ACOG’s new website, ensuring engaging and accurate content for ACOG’s ob gyn members. Support editorial strategies, schedules and tools to guide web content development.
    • Content Development, Writing and Editing: Work closely with subject matter experts across ACOG to transform content for the website into easily scannable, engaging and web friendly content that follows best practices. Review content to ensure consistent style and tone.  Collaborate with marketers and designers to create innovative digital content. Work with ACOG staff to ensure keywords, metadata, taxonomy and synonyms are accurately applied to content and that content is findable and that metrics support decisions.
    • Content Workflow and Governance: Post new content on the website using ACOG’s content management system, including writing, review and editing, applying SEO and taxonomy to content, ensuring findability, helping to enforce information architecture guidelines. Make recommendations for promotion of content throughout acog.org. Ensure that web content meets website style and information architecture guidelines.
    • Knowledge Sharing. Support Senior Web Content Strategist in championing web content across ACOG and ensuring that it meets set content strategy and governance. Provide feedback and support to departments across ACOG. Provide ACOG staff with tools to write effectively for the web. Collaborate with other content editors in the MarComm department

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism or related field.
    • Minimum of two to four years of experience in managing, writing and editing content, with at least one year of experience with medical and health communications content.
    • Attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to fact check and proofread for accuracy in spelling, grammar, and format.
    • Must have excellent writing and editing skills, solid editorial judgement, verbal communication, coordination, and project management skills.
    • Experience with website content management systems, basic HTML and curating multimedia content for the web preferred.
    • Courage to contribute ideas and take initiative toward shared goals while working collaboratively with staff and stakeholders at all levels.
    • Team player who understands the value of building positive working relationships and who believes in the value of collaboration
    • Understanding of search engine optimization and how metadata and taxonomy can help drive search results.
    • Strong understanding of branding, audience and the importance of consistent voice and tone.
    • Demonstrated understanding of best practices for writing for the web and other digital platforms, including mobile.
